Thirsty for blood.

Gem glided through the mist. Being a vampire, this mist meant nothing to her. It was easy to track her prey. But for her prey, it wasn't easy. Having a vampire chaing you for your blood is no mean feat.
Gem smiled as she picked up it's scent.
"Here, kitty, kitty," she crooned, sniffing the air once more.
She hoped no human or monster was anywhere around, as when she was hunting, her red eyes and extra-awsome abilities were revealed. Gem knew she wouldn't be able to stop herself if someone came along....or would she?

HUNGERY

NOTHING

*sniff sniff*

FOOD!

*leaves rustlling*

CAT

HU, COMPOTION!!!!

GRAHHHHH!

Gem snarled as she heard more rustling. Someone else was after her food! She bared her fangs again, her red eyes blazing. She would win. The prey was hers. The mist wasn't big enough for two hunters.
Gem jumped out, wild with thirst and bumped into the other one. The other hunter.
"Hey! What are you doing? It's getting away! You," Gem yelled, her voice loud and wavering in anger. The other person showed no emotion. She cast her memory back to that other day, when she was in a more human state. "You...you're that guy...Cana? Ugh, I didn't know you were a hunter too!" Gem's attitude was always awful when she was in her 'vampire' state. Another voice in the back of her head was protesting against her rudeness. The 'vamp' Gem ignored it. She felt no remorse for being horrid to a friend.
The cat they were both hunting was eyeing them with annoyance. It crowched, preparing to spring.
Gem acted quickly, pushing Cana out of the way. She then attacked the cat. The battle was only half over.
"Hey!" She yelled again. "The only reason I pushed you was because the other me was screaming at me to do something. She wanted to help you, not me. Understand that."

Cana's conciousness flickered back into focus. The blue haze that took over when the shell was winning lifing instaniously. Hunger pangs still gripped his belly, but the reboot had finished just in time. The blue hair girl from before shoved him with superhuman force, hurtling the emasiated body over five feet back. She looked similer, and yet somthing sutle had changed. Cana tried to tap into his memory banks for an exact visuel to refernce, but the startup had not yet recovered his recently accessed storage. She tussled with the sleek feline, apperatly trying to get in a bite. Vampire, Blood, but this was not a human. Obseravation required. Cana yanked out a small wooden whistle from his mouth, and gave out a sharp blow. The sound was barly audiable, but the cat reared at the ultrasimphonic frequency. Taking advantage of thins, the girl sunk her fangs deep into the scruff of the neck, allowing the cat's own heartbeat to feed her. It was an abnormal sight, but the disgust did not regester, emotional programming was always the last to pick up after Shell-shock

After the girl finished feeding, the ferel glow dimming from her eyes, Cana grabbed her by the arm.

"What, what did I do?" he mumbled, unsure of himself

The mist was moist so Seela could keep her human form easily, is it a good thing? Dodging bushes, trees, plants and sunlight she reached a point were she was stopped, by hunters. One, fangs, blood and red shimmering eyes. The other, blue hair, a wooded whistle just been blu "So the noice was coming from that... Why?" Outside the mists Seela heard a sharp pitch so that's how she ended up here, she crept closer, near a bush, hopeing the hunters won't hunt her down. She shivered in the flotting waters and stayed there, listening.

Seraphim had her lion guard the doors of Tranquiland so she could explore the mists a bit more. (In her fan-fighter form) She leaped jumped and skipped over to the plants and trees she stroked a wilted flower and said calmly "It's ok sweetie I'll get you better..." So she gotten her healer equipment out and casted a spell onto the wilted plant. "I hope you feel better now..." She smiled happily and strolled around (healer form now!) she heard some arguing and wondered over to the comotion. She stood behind a tree and watched the blue haired woman biting the cat. She used her healer powers and brought it's spirit to heaven. and.. waited for the two strangers to notice it was scencless. So she walked over quietly and said " Calm..." And the woman went back to human form.

Gem had had her blood. The vampire inside her was done. She had no reason to be around the others that were here. So it was done. When Gem was thirsty again, the monster would come back. For now...she could let it go.
Cana had grabbed her arm, looking completely unsure of himself. Gem stared at him angrily;she was still in vampire form.
"Talk to the one who cares!" She told him, closing her eyes and relaxing. Gem knew they were watching her 'transform'. It was almost embarrassing-she shrunk slightly, and the air of wildness dissapeared with it. She opened her eyes a little tentatively. They were black once more.
She felt sad, disgusted even. She sank down to the floor, dragging Cana down with her. It took her one moment to get back to herself.
"I'm sorry you had to watch a vampire hunt. It isn't at all graceful to watch...and I'm sorry I pushed you. I don't want people I know getting hurt. That is my reason..." Gem closed her eyes briefly, thinking. "This is why I can't have friends. This is why I am alone. I am a killer," she pointed out quietly, a single tear sliding down her cheek. "You ask me what happened. Just now? Or back at the smoothie bar? The only thing those two really have in commen is that I made a mistake. But I'll answer your question, if you tell me when you mean."
Gem sniffed the air while she waited. Human scent. Human. "Human...whatever you do, don't let me stand up. Although I've just fed...human scent...it can overwhelm me a little. Just talk to me, quick! Distract me, please!"

Seraphim didn't have much blood because she is half tree inside her heart was a seed which will bloom into a blossom tree when she helps others. "You can have friends no matter who you are or what your condition...If you show your good side and be a good person everyone will respect you." Seraphim heled out her hands and lifted gem and cana up, and said calmly and kindly "See, Eventhough your a vampire you are still a living thing and you should be respected as a person or living thing... Now whipe your tears away... If you stay sad any longer your heart will oon turn negative and you wont respect anyone else anyway if u dont respect anyone how could they respect you? Me Cana everyone is your friend. If you put ur mind to it!" She smiled at her happily and stood silently.

DATA LOG #3

Adnim watched as the healer girl came forward, transfering the "fifth element" from the cat. A element the had never had. The girl, Gem as he recalled, threw him into the dirt. He felt, strange again. Testosterone? Han't his shell run out of that yet? The corpse of the cat still lay there, and his shell was HUNGERY. Thankfully, the redudency were working top notch.

"There, Here, everywhere." He struttered. The healer woman looked slightly shocked at this apperntly ill placed display of affection. "My, my memory blanked out." she still eyed him, the pangs of hunger had not yet fully faded. " Do not even try, you will get nothing." he stated flatly as the anylitcal compter brain went up full steam. "Just tell me what I need to know, and I will be in your dept. I already am, one smoothy." COST OF SMOOTHIE $1.50 FUNDS .43 CENTS. INSUFFICENT. "Then again, I may need a job first." He stared into the girls eyes. He could almost feel his glands working overtime. Yet, his "heart" did not increase in pace. " I. I. I just want to talk," he turned to the healer. "Alone..."

Gem had been lifted up by this strange healer/fighter girl, who was spewing out words of knowlege and wisdom.
"You say so many things...so much wisdom...and to think..." she mumbled quietly for a moment before smiling at Cana, a little ruefully.
"You can get off my arm now right? The worst is over...well it never is if you take the strange pathway of friendship with a vampire," she said softly, trying to move his hand almost as delicatly. "No pain..." she muttered, still smiling. "Okay. At the smootie bar, you um...talked, then took my smoothie. And Danies. Then you ran here. I followed 'cause I got angry and I...yeah. Then when I got here to hunt for a replacement to my smoothie, you showed up. I kinda growled at you and was being bad tempered. No, it isn't his fault, stop trying to provoke me," she whispered, speaking to the vampire in her mind. "Please stop now. Anyway-you wanted to talk to someone...alone. Who do you wish to speak to? If it's um...her you want, I'll tell you the rest of my 'tale'," Gem giggled a little. "And leave. If you want to speak to me, privately, then fire away when you're ready." Gem waited, still trying to remove Cana's hand from her arm.

Seraphim was confused of what was going on. she scrached the back of her neck and mumble to herself quietly "What do I do? Didn't Cana need me for a moment then?" She looked at the two and said gently "Ok....My name is Seraphim and Im the caretaker and the owner of the floating island called Tranquiland and im also half tree because a tree made me and my heat is a seed which will soon bloom into a blossom if I help enough people not just because I want my heart to turn into a blossom also because I want to see those happy faces on people I dread seeing sad people and I feel their feelings as the trees watch over you and listen to your problems. And my mother tree is dying because people are turning bad and I get affected by it too we all do. if the mother tree dies we all suffer the same fate.. so Im trying to save y mother! Do you mind if I travel along with you too? Because I never really had human friends before..." She blushed and hugged herself waiting for a answer.

"Um,um,um..." Cana stuttered. He was, confused with the healers statement. "Not, relly. Just, don't listen in ok?"

"I... I understand what you're going through, the hunger you can't control," he whispered softly into gem's ear, his lips scraping her tender cartalige. " My stomech has never given much sign either, and then I just lose it. We have more in common then you know. Why don't we meet up later when," he nugged his head towerd the healer. " She can't hear us. I shall procure funds in the meantime,"

Cana loosened his grip, it was time to throw his shell a bone, hopfully with some meat still attached

After sitting for over a hour Seela, fell asleep.
Luckly no one spotted her, but maybe soon, she sat there dreaming of a time when people will notice her, like her, love her. She dreamt of a family, with one brother and one sister trying to keep her hopes up she gripped onto her jumper, a tear droped down from her eye.

A trickle of light given the scene away, piercing away into her body untill her human form turned to dust. "No, no... why did this happen." Seela moaned. A flowing river was close by to the mists, she rose, running to the river of live [with her interest of the others taken away].
She cupped her hands: dry, untouched for a long time and clear. Dipping them into the fresh, soothing pool, splashing it all over herself, slowly taking her form back to normal...

Danie was running through the jungle then through the fog "Where do I go! Im scared!" She ran into Seela and pushed her out of the dark "Oh my gosh Im so sorry did I hurt...you?...Where is she?" Danie closed her eyes and saw a ghost girl "Oh Im sorry miss!" She grabbed Seela's hand and pulled her up nto the shade again *Gasp* "A-are you o-ok?"
Meanwhile, Seraphim was confused of what cana ws saying "What do you need Cana?" She was confused with him and stood still with her hands behind her back smiling.

Gem felt warm. Very warm. It was almost like embarressment-but that emotion came with something strong. Something Gem hadn't felt in a while. Almost a hundred years...
"No," she blurted out, still feeling strange. "No, no, no. No. I, i, i...it can't! I never...I can never put anyone...no. Someone else. Not even my own...no, no...not me! I would...I would...even without the...I would still...self control, self control. No...no...it can't happen again. The last time...f, f...fire and water! I cannot have that! I am but a...monster." Gem realised she was shaking violently, just thinking about it. But...she couldn't help relating one feeling to another. She was just lucky right now that, as she was, well, dead, there was no blood in her body. And no blood equals no blushing. And that being dead also means that her heart wasn't beating. So no danger there.
Then Gem heard Seriphim's voice-Didn't Cana need me for a moment then?-and it stung slightly. Gem's face crumbled in pain. She understood the meaning of those words-it was her. The vampire. Gem. She was putting him in danger.
She nodded swiftly at Cana, and strode as far away as possible from him, into the mist. Only her voice was left, sad and ringing.
"I understand. I know why he needed you. It was because of me!" Gem yelled to Cana and Seriphim. Behind the anger, there was a stroke of hurt. "It's because I'm a vampire. Cana was alone with a vampire! A hungry vampire! I am the danger! I could kill someone! That's why he was in danger! He needed rescuing from me-a stupid, dangerous, out of control, ancient, blood sucking, murdering vampire! I can't do this at all!!!" Gem made a strangled gurgling noise and tears were sliding down her face once more-but now, no one could see to comfort her.
"I'm sorry Cana...but I don't think I should do this. Everyone I care about...I can't do it. I might see you around, but who knows? I don't want to harm anyone. I'm sorry," Gem said flatly, turning on her heal and walking away. Her dark hair wooshed out behind her. She couldn't look back. Where she was headed, she didn't know. She just hoped that she wasn't followed too closely-or maybe even not at all. "I'm a loner," she informed them, still not looking. "I don't think I can change that."

Gem ran, she ran deeper into the woods. Danger? Vampire posed no Danger to him. Searching, Searching, no viruses detected. This girl could not harm him, she was too, frail. Logon, Netscape, Yahoo, Search information, vampire weakness. Holy water, stakes, millet seeds, crosses, destruction of coffon, and 5 more pages of text. Not even full humans could suffer such harm. Granted, she had powers he did not, but the physical plain the the digital plain were two intirly differt places. He needed to, help her. Why? Logic failure. No results. This was pointless, he needed funds. This wasen't the shell's idea, those only came in visons and monosylinolic commands. Nor could this be of computer conciousness, there was no logic to it. Something, he did not know what, was inputting commands to an AI! Impossable, an AI was a completly independent being, without any progamed responces. How could he be controled? Yet it was happening. Olifactory report, dust present, Cana turned in that direction..

Seraphim spoke holy words of another language and went into her fighter form and shouted "We have to help her!" The holy words let gem fall asleep and gem's eyes turned back to normal. Seraphim ran a massive speed towards gem she lifted her up and ran back to cana and layed her down (what?) "If you want to help her cana go do your stuff..." Gem was close to awakening they had to get her back home so she could rest.

Gem awoke, a little confused. Then her anger came back.
"I told you, I don't want to be followed!!!! Why must I not be taken seriously? I just don't get it. Leave me alone, okay? I...I want to be alone for a while. I told you I was sorry already. But I don't want...to be here."
She stood up, shaking a little. "Heed my words. I can turn worse that what you have seen. I don't really want to hurt you...rip you apart in more ways than one. So leave me be. Please..." This time Gem walked slowly through the mist, and towards...anywhere else.

Saraphim felt she didn't belong in this conversation so she walked off and returned to the island "Again didn't make a new friend.. I suppose Im not meant to have human friends..." She cryed bitterly..
